How We Work Alongside Your Care
At Serene Waters Surf Adventures, we use the ocean to help people build confidence, manage stress, and learn how to stay present when things get challenging. We offer a safe, structured outdoor environment where people can put the life skills they’re learning elsewhere into real-world practice.

For Behavioral Health Professionals
An Ocean/Adventure-Based Extension of Your Work
(Treatment Programs, Therapists, Psychiatrists, & Counselors, Etc.)

You do the deep clinical work in the office; we give your clients an active, hands-on space to practice those skills in the real world.
- Clear Boundaries: You handle the diagnosis, treatment plan, and therapy. We handle ocean safety, surfboard instruction, and guiding participants through real-time moments of challenge and regulation in the water.
- Practice Over Theory: It’s one thing to discuss stress management on a couch, but it’s another to practice staying calm while paddling through a wave. Surfing naturally forces clients to focus, breathe, and slow down their reactions.
- A Refreshing Break from Talk Therapy: For clients experiencing “therapy fatigue”—especially teens, young adults, or adults working through life transitions—the ocean offers a physical outlet that feels less like work and more like living.
For Parents & Families
Real Growth Beyond the Screen and the Classroom

It’s tough watching a family member struggle with anxiety, stress, or self-doubt. Serene Waters gives them a healthy, empowering place to step away from screens and build real confidence in nature.
- Learning by Doing: We don’t sit around lecturing. We get out in the water. Learning to catch a wave builds genuine, lasting confidence that spills over into everyday life, school, and relationships.
- Safe, Supportive Mentorship: Our ocean coaches meet every person right where they are. Whether your loved one is terrified of the ocean or already loves the water, we keep things encouraging, structured, and safe.
- Natural Stress Relief: The combination of saltwater, movement, and focus acts as a natural reset button for a tired or anxious mind.
- Team Effort: If your family member is already in a treatment program, or seeing a therapist or counselor, we’re more than happy to coordinate with them so everyone is working toward the same goals.
How Getting Started Works
- A Quick Conversation: We jump on a short call with the referring professional or parent to talk through logistics, comfort levels in the water, and any physical considerations.
- Clear Setup & Disclosures: We complete our standard activity waivers and scope-of-practice disclosures, ensuring everyone understands our non-clinical role. The student will be receiving services through our surf school as a surf lesson participant.
- Getting into the Water: The participant joins us for 1-on-1, semi-private, or small group sessions focused on ocean skills, focus, and personal growth.
